Love is Blind is a talented 4-piece band made up of veteran musicians from Abilene, Texas. The band is fronted by the soulful and entertaining Shanda Tijerina (vocals/keys/guitar) and supported by the driving force of David Laurence (guitar/vocals), Chris Owens (bass/vocals), and Cecil Tijerina (drums). The band has been churning out classic rock, pop, and county favorites since early 2015. Their separate musical endeavors have dated back to more than 30 years having shared the stage with notable artists such as The Turning, Mark Powell, Loretta Lynn, Steve Wariner, Warren Haynes, The Arc Angels, and Mark Farner. Early in her career, Shanda toured extensively with the Continental Singers covering 38 states and 5 countries. A multi-talented entertainer, she also acted and sang in a dinner theater in St. Louis. While performing at the Roswell UFO Festival, Shanda and Cecil were captured in the MTV-produced documentary film “Six Days in Roswell.”
The accomplished musicians in Love Is Blind have also been members in popular local and regional bands that include Mind Trip, CounterClockwise Band, DRB, Jack Dexter and the Main Street Sound as well as other Southern Border artists Juan Martinez and Kirk House. This band is always a crowd favorite and are sure to become a favorite of yours.
